Mindfulness is a proven tool to help people become more aware of the present moment. Using mindfulness has been show to decrease experience of depressive symptoms, increase a sense of serenity, and assists with stress reduction.
There is something about being surrounded by nature which immediately increases a sense of peace. Combining the practice of a physical hike with mindful meditation creates a unique mind-body experience.
The Mindful Hiking Experience will include a brief overview of mindfulness and its potential uses, guided learning of several mindfulness techniques, and assistance in combining techniques into the physical practice of hiking.
